A global manufacturer of specialised nutritional products recently faced a challenging redundancy process.
Several long-serving employees were impacted, some with more than 20 years’ service. Many of them found the consultation process overwhelming and were struggling to rebuild confidence as they prepared to re-enter the job market for the first time in many years.
Problem
Employees needed practical and emotional support to navigate their transition into a competitive job market. The company wanted to ensure the process was handled with care to protect its reputation and demonstrate commitment to its team, even during difficult times. Solution

With the client’s agreement, our Outplacement expert engaged with the company to:
- Understand employee roles and the impact of the consultation period.
- Design a bespoke outplacement programme aligned with employees’ needs.
- Deliver group sessions, followed by one-to-one coaching in areas including CV writing, interview skills, and job search strategies.
Outcome
The employees fully engaged with the programme and provided universally positive feedback. Follow-up coaching sessions helped them build confidence, apply new techniques, and plan proactively for the future. By the end of the process, participants felt more positive, better equipped for the job market, and supported through what had initially been a daunting transition, and as a result exited the company in a more positive way, with most moving straight into new roles or careers.
