FREE Webinar – Redundancy Guide for Employers

Thursday 27th February 2025, 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM
0.00

Event Description

In addition to the increase in the National Minimum Wage (NMW) as part of the government’s plan to ‘Make Work Pay’, the Autumn 2024 budget introduced several measures that will have a negative impact on business costs, including increased employer National Insurance contributions.

These changes may pose significant challenges for employers who might find themselves planning redundancies to mitigate rising costs associated with employing staff. Whilst redundancy is a potentially fair reason for dismissal, it can be a tricky area to navigate and getting it wrong can leave the employer exposed to costly claims of unfair dismissal, and in some cases, unlawful discrimination. Managing redundancy can be a daunting prospect, but it doesn’t need to be with the right advice and support.

What we will cover

To ensure your business adopts a fair redundancy process, join our live classroom with EML experts Daniel Hart and Ami Harrison who will be discussing everything you need to know about redundancy, including:

  • Definition of Redundancy
  • Selection Pools
  • Selection Criteria & Scoring
  • Individual & Collective Consultation
  • Bumping
  • Appropriate Representatives
  • Arranging Elections
  • Alternative Employment
  • Trial Periods

Who is it for?

This FREE event is a fantastic opportunity for any business owner, HR professional or manager who is currently faced with the need to make redundancies, or is simply looking to better understand the steps involved.

No employer relishes the prospect of having to make redundancies but if properly planned and executed, it need not be a minefield. Register your FREE place here today!

Please note: Registered participants will be reviewed prior to the event, and we reserve the right to make a final decision on their attendance.
