Jo is a highly qualified health and safety professional. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and over 25 years’ experience in risk management, having worked in many diverse industries including agriculture, food manufacturing, engineering, project management and consultancy. Jo also worked with the Health and Safety Executive as part of their COVID Spot Check Assurance Team.
In addition, Jo has extensive experience of managing and developing HSEQ management systems and is also a qualified lead auditor. With excellent communication skills, she enjoys communicating and influencing staff at all levels and identifying any gaps in health and safety compliance. She actively promotes the use of training, coaching, and mentoring to help to improve the safety culture within the businesses of the clients she works with.
By undertaking professional training and CPD throughout her career, Jo has amassed a wide range of qualifications, including Level 5 diploma in Coaching. She holds memberships of a number of professional bodies, including Chartered Membership of Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH) and Senior Member of the Association of Coaches, Counsellors, Psychotherapists and Hypnotherapists (ACCPH).
Jo is an accredited Coach and NLP Master Practitioner and has spent 30 years supporting people through coaching and leadership development, along with experience in people management, mentoring and change management. Jo has worked across a wide range of industries helping people to achieve both personal and professional goals. Through her strong belief in empowerment and collaboration, Jo works with people to build resilience and help them reach their potential. Jo’s style is challenging but empathetic. She will ask difficult questions and explore the rationale behind the answers to successfully help individuals and businesses grow, develop and flourish.
Jo is also an accredited Mental Health First Aider and is available to support employers in developing a workplace culture that supports employee health and wellbeing. Jo has completed the Suicide First Aid Lite training to compliment this accreditation and is also a member of the Orange Button Community Scheme whose aim is to help in suicide prevention. The scheme is made up of members of the public who are trained to listen and provide information and signposting to information or support services, whilst helping to break the stigma surrounding suicide. Jo has also achieved a Level 3 Award in Education and Training which allows her to deliver work-based training to clients who require trainers to have formal qualifications.
Jo lives in Roughlee, in the heart of Pendle Witch Country, with her husband, 2 dogs, 6 rescue hens and a pony. When she’s not working, she enjoys photography, writing poetry, reading, and spending time in nature.
