Event Description
The end of lockdown and moving to a new normal – Is your business ready for flexible working requests?
Following the COVID pandemic and advances in technology, remote working has provided benefits such as a better work / life balance and a reduction in the weekly commute. However, the physical workplace can still be important for collaboration, morale and maintaining personal wellbeing.
With more employees now favouring a greater degree of homeworking, some employers have proactively embraced the likely need for greater flexibility post-COVID…but many haven’t. This may be because they can’t due to the nature of their operation, or simply won’t because their outlook is more traditional insofar as place of work / working patterns are concerned.
Notwithstanding the problems that failing to embrace greater flexibility could cause in terms of recruitment and retention, the reality is that eligible employees (i.e. those with 26 weeks’ continuous service) have a legal right to apply for a variation to their hours, time or place of work to achieve it.
To guide you through this process, we will be hosting a FREE virtual event on Thursday, 13 May 2021 between 2:00-3:00pm. Our expert panel will be questioned on all aspects of the right to request flexible working, including:
-
- How they must be presented
- How they should be dealt with
- On what grounds they can be refused
- The possible consequences not handling them correctly.
There will also be an opportunity for participants to submit questions to the panel themselves and we will try to answer as many of these as possible during the event.
