In 2026, EML proudly celebrates its 40th Birthday and we’re marking this milestone in spectacular style!
To commemorate the occasion, we’re supporting Dave Day – an annual charity fundraising event held in memory of the late Dave Myers, beloved TV chef and one half of the Hairy Bikers. Our very own Adelle Hutton, a seasoned Dave Day volunteer, is organising a charity football match: Dave’s Gold Stars (AKA The Hairy Strikers) v Team EML, with a target of raising £15,000 for NSPCC Childline.
The match takes place on Saturday 11 April 2026 at Bamber Bridge FC, kicking off at 2:00pm for an unforgettable 11-a-side showdown. An awards presentation will follow at 4:30pm before the celebrations continue into the evening with a hot buffet and entertainment in the club lounge. Lili Myers, Dave’s wife will be there to collect the funds raised on behalf of Dave Day.
On Sunday 8th March, all players will have the chance to attend a training session at Bamber Bridge FC with Jamie Milligan, current Bamber Bridge FC Manager, former Everton, Blackpool and Fleetwood Town player. (Team EML’s manager will be announced shortly).
We’ve already secured several players to represent Team EML but we’re looking to recruit more!
If you or any of your employees are competitive on the pitch and would like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you. But there is a catch – it’s a pay-to-play fixture with a minimum sponsorship commitment of £500 per player. Every contribution will help make a meaningful difference to children in need and in return for your generosity, participating companies will receive exposure across pre-event marketing and match-day promotional activity.
If you’d prefer to cheer from the sidelines, there are plenty of other ways to get involved. From pitch-side advertising to donating raffle prizes, everyone is welcome to join us for what promises to be a memorable day, on and off the pitch!
